Meet our team
Gestalt therapy is our shared foundation. All of our clinicians are formally trained and certified in Gestalt therapy through recognized Gestalt institutes.
We all care deeply about this work and believe in the collective healing that comes from being in contact, in relationship.
Our clinicians practice at different stages of licensure and are supported through ongoing supervision and continued professional development.
Director, Therapist, SupervisorSteph Joseph, LPC, ATR, LAC
Steph is a licensed psychotherapist, registered art therapist, and licensed addiction counselor with her Masters in Counseling with an emphasis in Art Therapy from Naropa University. She has a private practice specializing working with young adults, couples and families. Steph is also the Director of the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies.
Steph so very much believes in kindness, love and care for others and this planet. She believes in Gestalt as a therapeutic practice and a way to show up in the world: creating opportunities for awareness and relationship. Steph is an artist. If she can find a minute (or simply dream of a free minute) she would be throwing a pot on a wheel. Or sewing clothes without a pattern. Or weaving her kids baby clothes into a tapestry. Steph studied photography in her 20s which ended up being the means to discover a Masters in Art Therapy. Her love for fine art transformed to the “art of therapy”. She believes that being a therapist and working with clients and students is so incredibly creative. She sees each meeting as a blank canvas and meets her clients there to co-create healing. Because of this mindset, each therapy session is unique and met with curiosity and care. She loves her work.
Steph is a momma of three young kids and a big Newfoundland dog named Haddy. Her husband is the greatest human she knows and together they navigate life with humor, quizzical eye brows and a lot of love. Their kids, by far, are their greatest teachers. Steph unapologetically reads YA fiction books, would happily take a dance class as a workout, has recently bought way too many house plants, and wants another Newfoundland dog (because why not?!)
Ben Edwards, CPCC, PCC
Student TherapistBen is a a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies (2024) and a Master’s student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University. He provides telehealth therapy through The Gestalt Clinic under the supervision of experienced Gestalt therapists. Alongside his clinical training, Ben brings many years of experience as a leadership, career, and life coach. He is certified through the Co-Active Training Institute and the International Coaching Federation.
Ben has healed from his own childhood wounds and adult addictions, and his big, open heart calls him to support people who long for more healing, wholeness and ease in their lives. He also works with clients who are navigating major life transitions, changes in identity, or periods of uncertainty and doubt.
As a Gestalt practitioner, Ben works with mind, body and spirit as an interconnected whole, helping his clients bring physical, energetic, emotional and cognitive patterns into greater awareness. He trusts deeply in every person’s innate capacity for creativity, resourcefulness, healing and growth, even in the midst of great difficulty. In sessions, Ben creates a safe, present-centered space where clients can explore what is happening in themselves, allowing new possibilities to emerge naturally rather than being forced or fixed.
In past lives, Ben worked as a foreign correspondent and in technology. Ben is a loving husband and father to three adult children. He also loves to hang out with his horses and goofy dogs, and has recently started learning the drums.
Therapist
Harry Taub, MD, LPCc
Harry Taub is a mental health counselor and Gestalt therapist with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado and advanced training from the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies, where he also serves as consulting faculty. He completed his M.D. at Dartmouth Medical School and specialist training in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. Harry no longer practices medicine or prescribes, choosing to focus exclusively on psychotherapy.
Harry has a special interest in supporting professionals navigating licensing or disciplinary challenges related to substance use and behavioral health. He also works with adolescents and adults experiencing substance use disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, shame, and disconnection. His approach is holistic, client-centered, and grounded in mindfulness and Gestalt principles.
Harry believes lasting change comes from understanding the emotional and cognitive patterns shaped by history and trauma. By expanding present-moment awareness, clients can deepen insight and create more meaningful, enduring change. He is a devoted husband and father, and his family remains one of his greatest teachers.
JJ Hedden, LPCc
Therapist
JJ is a counselor that focuses on relationships, utilizing experiential and systems-based therapy. He has a foundation in Gestalt therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory. JJ focuses on being aware of the present moment, processing emotions and patterns in relationships. He is particularly drawn to how Gestalt therapy focuses on contact, phenomenology and the therapeutic relationship as a way to bring about transformation.
In his therapy work, JJ pays special attention to affect, embodiment, and interactional dynamics. This helps his clients become aware of and integrate emotional experiences that may have been out of their prior awareness. JJ favors work that goes deep, respects complexity, and translates insight into practical, down to earth change. He sees therapy as a collaborative process that encourages authenticity, inquiry and growth.
